Back to Church Sunday

For some life just got too busy. Others moved away. Some grew up without realizing its relevance. Still others felt their questions weren’t answered, or had struggles that were not dealt with well.

There are many reasons you may have stopped going to church, but this month we hope you might make a fresh start. Sunday 25 September is national ‘Back to Church Sunday.’ All over the UK people will be invited to church and we want to extend a warm invitation to you – even if you have never actually been to church at all.

The difficulties of this last year are causing many to ask questions about what life is actually about, where purpose can be found, or how children can be protected from the influences around them. Christians have found that Christ has profound answers to these questions and the help they recognize they need. More than that, they have become convinced that they have a need of him whether they sense it or not. They therefore come to church because it is there that they learn more of Christ and find joy, friendships and support for their faith and life.

Our intention is to give everyone in the village a chance to experience this - and so this big day and this big invitation. It may surprise you to read that last year 51,136 people went back to church on this particular Sunday. In fact since the event began 151,548 have done so.

A verse in the Bible tantalizingly says: “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” We hope that you will join us on this one Sunday to do just that.
