Our two churches

Maresfield Church
Ours is a growing church community. Just a few years ago the church comprised little over ten people. But now we have 40 to 50 of all ages regularly attending our main service and getting involved in our mid-week activities. Many of these are not from an Anglican background, and a number are returning to or new to the faith.

We are excited about what the Lord is doing amongst us and would love you to join us if you are currently looking for a church or somewhere to live. As we are situated just off the Uckfield bypass, we hope to serve the wider Uckfield area as well as the village. We are therefore particularly pleased to have been joined by people from the surrounding towns and villages.

We hold a number of different services, but prioritise meeting together every Sunday morning at 11.15am, seeing this as the key place where we are spiritually re-energised for the coming week. We intend the teaching of the Bible in these services to be stretching and central. The style of service serves those who prefer less formal worship than is found in Nutley, but without this excluding those from other backgrounds. We sing classic hymns and contemporary songs, accompanied by organ, guitar or piano. We are keen to develop musically, but are currently limited by having only a small pool of musicians. If you play an instrument, you would be more than welcome to help!

Finally, if you have younger children, do take a look at Bonners, our Church Primary School. It has a very good Ofsted report in which its links with the church were judged 'outstanding.'

Nutley Church
Our church also has 40 to 50 of all ages regularly attending our main service and getting involved in wider activities. And we have seen a particular increase in the number of young families joining us for All Age Services.

Set in the beautiful Ashdown Forest, the village of Nutley has a deep sense of community. The church reflects this and includes those from a diversity of Christaian backgrounds. If you are looking for a church, we therefore expect and hope that you will find a home amongst us no matter what your previous church experience.

We hold a number of different services, but prioritise meeting together every Sunday morning at 9.15am, seeing this as the key place where we are spiritually re-energised for the coming week. We intend the teaching of the Bible in these services to be stretching and central. The style of service serves those who prefer more formal worship than is found in Maresfield, but without this excluding those from other backgrounds. Services are led by a robed Minister and choir, with various choral contributions. If you are interested in joining the choir, do let us know.

Finally, if you have younger children, do take a look at Nutley Church of England Primary School, with whom we have very strong links.
